Surrounded by rolling green hills, Heidelberg is a small, charming town located in south-west Germany. Mostly known for housing the country’s oldest university and one of Europe’s finest, students lugging around their backpacks and carrying thick books fill the streets and occupy the tram.

One of the better known sites, Heidelberg Castle is a Gothic and Renaissance masterpiece, dating as far back as the 1100s. Despite withering many battles and wars, it still stands today as a once almighty fortress, its regal disposition not lost among its battle scars.
